Breaking Barriers and Building Impact: MONIX COO’s Voice for Women in Tech

Breaking Barriers and Building Impact: MONIX COO’s Voice for Women in Tech

To celebrate International Women’s Month 2025, Thiranun “Tyra” Arunwattanakul, Chief Operating Officer of MONIX, took center stage as a guest panelist at two remarkable events hosted by Microsoft Thailand and SCBX. With her unique perspective as a tech-business leader, Tyra delivered powerful messages of inclusion, resilience, and self-awareness — essential pillars for women rising in today’s rapidly evolving tech industry.

SCBX LeadHERS in Tech: Redefining Leadership with Empathy and Integrity

At the “LeadHERS in Tech: Women Driving Innovation & Impact” forum by SCBX, held on March 19, 2025, Tyra joined a powerhouse panel of top women executives, including leaders from SCBX, CardX, and DataX. The session focused on the realities of leadership, especially the emotional and psychological journeys women experience in senior roles.

Tyra’s narrative was grounded in real-world experience — from co-founding MONIX during the pandemic and building cross-border teams from scratch to leading FINNIX, a digital nano-lending app that serves underserved communities. She shared her transformation from a consultant to a purpose-driven operator, learning to see the bigger picture and guide her team with clarity, compassion, and long-term vision.

One standout moment was her candid discussion on Imposter Syndrome, a challenge many professionals — especially women — face in silence. Tyra offered a deeply personal and structured framework to navigate it:

1. Know yourself

2. Accept your imperfections

3. Respect yourself — and others

4. Stop comparing with others; start comparing with yourself

Tyra also encouraged leaders to make ethical integrity their compass, especially in a fast-paced world where the lines between right and wrong can blur. For her, true leadership is not about being perfect — it is about making decisions with empathy, awareness, and accountability.

“Leadership doesn’t come from titles — it comes from within. When you respect yourself, no one can tear you down.” — Thiranun Arunwattanakul, Chief Operating Officer

Microsoft Tech Community Meetup: Empowering the Next Generation of Tech Talent

At the Microsoft Tech Community Meetup, during the panel “Investing In Your Future, Learn From Tech Insiders” held on March 22, 2025, Tyra joined an inspiring discussion under the theme #AccelerateAction, alongside professionals from Token X, STelligence, and MFEC. The session was designed to inspire students and career shifters aspiring to enter the tech field by sharing real-life career journeys and insights across diverse roles in the industry.

Tyra’s presence stood out as she reflected on her dynamic role bridging business and technology at MONIX. With experience spanning consultancy and operations, she brought a rich perspective on navigating the intersection of corporate and IT provider environments, highlighting both the opportunities and challenges they offer.

She stressed the importance of personal branding for leaders, especially in emerging sectors like digital finance, offering tips on building community presence, remaining visible, and staying true to one’s values.

The session wrapped with an honest conversation on gender dynamics in the workplace. While acknowledging different leadership styles between men and women, Tyra emphasized that inclusive teams — grounded in authenticity and mutual respect — create the greatest impact.

A Shared Message: Empowerment Rooted in Authenticity

While the two events celebrated different facets of International Women’s Month, Tyra’s message across stages remained unified and powerful: women can lead with strength, empathy, and vision — not by conforming, but by embracing their true selves.

Whether mentoring the next generation at Microsoft or exchanging insights with peers at SCBX, Tyra exemplified what it means to build bridges across cultures, industries, and mindsets, while staying grounded in values that drive long-term impact.

As the tech world continues to evolve, leaders like Tyra are not only shaping innovation — they are redefining the meaning of leadership for future generations.
